Bright Brussels puts the Belgian capital in the spotlight
The Light festival takes place this February in Brussels Viviane Vaz for Id International (Brussels, 11 Feb 2020) The city of Brussels is offering its inhabitants and visitors a wonderful bright journey full of light art shows and installations to happen from February 13 to 16, 2020. In total, there are 15 light artworks made by Belgian and international artists, set up to bright Brussels from 7 PM to 11 PM. The festival is free of charge and open to everybody. You will find the bright side of light art force in Brussels in a special path going from Saint Catherine Square to the Halle Gate via Grand Place, Poelaert, Marolles, Sablon and Quartier Royal. The free guided tours are already sold out, but if you have a group of at least 10 people, you can still request a private guided tour with Id International staff in several languages. If you prefer to walk by yourself, you can try this map designed by Visit.Brussels: These are some of the program highlights not to miss: Bright Bike Parade It will run through Porte de Hal, Marolles, Sablon and Mont des Arts, having the Lantern Ballroom as final destination. Address: pedestrian zone of Marché aux Herbes street, on February 13 at 6.15 PM The Lantern Ballroom A great moment to dance under thousands of lanterns! Address: Place d’Espagne, on February 13-16, from 7 PM to 11 PM Panorama by night The more sportive can climb 169 steps of Porte de Hal and admire the beautiful Brussels landscape specially lit for the festival. Address: Porte de Hal, February 15, until 11 PM. Fee: € 4 Experignon Experimental + mignon (cute, in French). A live video mapping performance by Maria Ilia, on a large scale mapping installation, that flows in harmony with the sounds of selected DJs. Address: Skatepark Chapelle, from February 13 to 16, at 11PM
Tip: There will be a massive must-see installation hanging at Citroën garage on Place de l’Yser/IJzerplein.
